DAYAPURAM,
the Educational and Cultural Centre, has been working as a
centre of knowledge, culture and communal harmony for the
last 24 years. Starting with an orphanage in 1984, which set
up a model by giving orphans English medium education which
was available only to rich students at the time, treating
them in no way different from the children with families,
and admitting children from all religious groups, this
campus showed an exemplary model in social work. Dayapuram,
run by Al Islam Charitable Trust, a registered charitable
organization, has gone to establish a number of institutions
on its campus including a school, colleges and technical
institutes in its rural locality, all with the motto of
equality, justice and harmony, as its founding principles.
The mission of Dayapuram is social equality through
education and it envisages to bring in positive changes in
the society through quality education. Dayapuram has given
crucial emphasis on women as its two women’s centres of
higher education show. This educational and cultural centre
has always stood for communal harmony through fighting
communalism in the public sphere through cultural activism.
The profits generated from the institutions are used for the
education of the poor, orphans and destitutes. The managing
body consists of volunteers, who are committed to the ideals
of this campus. With the acclaimed performance history of
more than two decades, Dayapuram Educational Adoption Scheme
is its latest venture to support students who find
themselves at dead ends due to lack of support systems and
advice…Dayapuram is extending its one hand to the haves to
lend its other helping hand to the poor…
